Snaps from Barça
A brief escapade to Barça this September. We were warned by a well meaning tour guide not to frequent the central El Raval quarter, as she explained it was considered the second most dangerous neighbourhood in the city. That may be the case, but I think it was one of the most interesting as well. A variety of halal grocery stores run by Pakistani uncles, saucy erotica shopfronts (I don’t think they were run by the same uncles), and a cosy chess café…amongst other things.

Côte d’Azur, September.
Hazy memories with precious souls. We spent a week in September on the Côte d’Azur, between the town of Agay and city of Nice. I’ll spare you the queasy puns and cliche wordplay.

When we first emerge from our tents nestled in the olive grove, still in the dark, most of us are dazed in sleep, but as we pick, we

SIP Magazine Feature: 'Chai, Tii or Tea?'
Mar 31, 2025 — by Cerys Jones Visit the SIP website to read all our articles. Ever wondered how tea is consumed in different countries, or what vessels are used? Check out Cerys Jones’s very own map of all things tea. Our names for this now common drink are inextricably linked to historical land and sea trade routes. I came across a map by historian Kelly Macquire and cartographer and educator Simeon Netchev, who explains: “There are plenty of variants of this map floating
