Sunrise Chasing in Nagarkot.

Chasing the rising sun at the top of the world with @leahbuffalino

Dawn's first rays creep up over the snow-crested summits of the Earth, radiating light and life into the slumbering valleys below.

Into ridges and ravines, tumbling rivers and verdant slopes. Life into every tea plantation, into every hectare of lush jungle, vine and fern, palm and paddy, tree, trunk, leaf and liana, elegant bamboo stem and ubiquitous wild cannabis which populates the hills. Life into our human ideas, our winding rocky roads and ramshackle tin shacks, into our structures of brick and wood, strewn with gently waving flags of red, yellow, white, blue and green. Life into fauna, into the hundred singing birds of the summer morning, into the goats, buffalos and stray dogs.

Life into my bedhead locks and sleepy eyes and sore calves.

I blink, photosynthesised. Good morning from Nagarkot, perched in the foothills of the Himalayas.
