Nahargarh fort is perched atop the verdant Aravalli hills surrounding Jaipur. The name Nahargarh means ‘abode of the tigers’. There’s no historical evidence for tigers inhabiting the fort, rather it was mainly built and used by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in the 1700s and no less than nine of his wives. He kept each of his wives in separate apartments with private entrances, so they couldn’t interact with each other and fight.
Clearly this place has known queen energy, so we joined the royal ranks and enjoyed being queens for a day.
