On this October evening, I am currently sat typing in chilly England, reminiscing over my French summer. Here are a few shots of some fun at a pottery workshop in the region of the Aveyron. Getting stuck into this ancient, primal craft. My creations came out looking rather like some underwater creatures fished out from the depths of some ocean trench- but I hear rustic and experimental is in vogue, right? Also they are in fact functional, I plan to use them as breakfast bowl and coffee cup. My friend's clay vessels came out considerably more elegant.
I don't have much time on my hands to create or make art whilst on the road, so I was grateful for this pause, this bracket of a few hours in which to be creative and experiment with a lump of clay, nestled somewhere in the green hills of Southwestern France.
