MY FIRST WORKAWAY EXPERIENCE. Lorraine, September 19th.
I've just spent 10 wonderful days working as a volunteer on a vegetable farm in Haut Clocher, Lorraine. Wow, it's been an incredible time: an idyllic setting, rewarding physical work, delicious vegetarian food, (almost) uninterrupted sunshine. The glory of dirt, muddy fingernails and the absenteeism of the concept of regular showers. Living among the cats and the donkeys and the dogs and the fleas.
But truly the most rewarding element of this time has been the people, the fellow two-legged apes with which I shared home, food and toil.
These are the pearls of travelling for me. The deep conversations about life, philosophy, love, and everything in between. The improptu and makeshift dance parties, swims, yoga and massage sessions. The songs sung on guitar around meals till the early hours of the morning. The spontaneous choirs of voices in the fields. Exchanging our different cultures and customs. Shared experience like this is precious and I leave inspired by the souls I've met, each beautiful and unique. I think farms like this don't just grow fruit and vegetables, they grow people. ✌

I leave here feeling grateful for the people I've met, not only whilst travelling but so far throughout this great adventure called life...
