Some highlights from Noa and I's time here include discovering the creative quartiers of Le Panier, Cours Julien and Noailles. We also stopped at the newly renovated Docks, had a go at busking and street selling, and of course couldn't resist testing our fair share of food and drink. On our last day we took a hike and swim through the Calanques national park, an area of stunning natural fjords, pine forest and turquoise waters, before a rooftop cinema evening at La Friche Belle de Mai- a stunning arts and culture hub situated in a renovated Tobacco factory.
But surely the peak of the weekend, in keeping with the city's spirit of rebellion, was leaving our own signature amongst the thousands of others which make up this explosive patchwork of a city.
Marseille also has a debatable reputation as French capital of crime and notably pickpocketing. By some miracle we evaded such a fate. Now where did I put my wallet...?
