I asked this smiling auntie with sparkling eyes if I could photograph her making fresh jalebis. She nodded and gifted me with a free, sugary fried snack.

Southall, or ‘Little India’, may not quite be the real thing, but it’s still a feast for the senses, and the tastebuds. Feeling nostalgic last weekend, I hopped onto the tube and rode to this suburb of West London. I was instantly transported back to the land of explosive flavour and exquisite colour.
