The ancient biblical scriptures describe Israel as "a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey..."
I agree, it certainly is that, and much, much more. A land of falafel and shawarma, of stray cats and mint-flavoured cigarettes, a land of mosque minarets and synagogue domes. A land of arid desert and fertile hills. A land of plenty, prosperity and poverty. A land of chaos and confusion, a land of spirituality, history and potential.
A land of layers upon layers of emotion, feeling, memory. A land of sincere hearts and kind, warm people.
I've just returned from an inspiring week in Israel and Palestine/ West Bank.
Stay tuned for some stories, anecdotes and recommendations from the land of olive oil and honey...
