Henna Samples.
During my time in India and Nepal, I was enamoured by the ancient body art of Henna and Mehndi. People on the subcontinent have been embellishing their skin using this paste made from leaves of the Henna plant, for at least 5000 years. It is traditionally associated with bridal rituals, but is also practiced widely for the purpose of everyday aesthetic. Here are samples of the Mehndis I received and absolutely loved!
Shout out to the artists, Leah (who spent three hours tattooing this mandala on my arm), Priyanka, and some adorable Nepalese women we bumped into whilst walking through a village on the outskirts of Kathmandu, who offered to illustrate our hands and were extremely enthusiastic to take selfies with us.
